There are many pigeons and doves in Africa. Some are bigger than domesticated piegion and some are smaller than bulbul.
This is a very commonly seen bird, mourning dove.
This is a very small Namaqua dove. Black face and male's long tail are its characteristics. Namaqua was named after a place or tribe's name in South Africa.
This photo was taken in Maralal in Kenya. There are two species of piegions in the photo. One with white head is White-naped Pigeon and another one with yellow beak is Olive Pigeon.
This is a red-eyed dove in front of Jacaranda flowers.
This is a piegion-like bird but it isn't. This is yellow-throated sandgrouse.
