Babblers in Africa

Babblers are small and not colorful. So they are often ignored by people.

arrow-marked bubbler

This is Arrow-marked bubbler, named after its arrow-shaped patterns on gray background.

The Arrow-marked Babbler (Turdoides jardineii) isis found in sub-Saharan Africa, from Senegal and Ethiopia down to South Africa.

The Arrow-marked Babbler is a small, plump bird with a distinctive white arrow-shaped patch on its black throat. It has brownish upperparts and a buff-colored belly, and its bill is relatively long and slightly curved.

black-lored babbler

This is Black-lored babbler. Lore is the name of the part between bird's eye and beak. I didn't know that.

This is probably Northern pied babbler, but not very sure.

This bird is called Bulbul. Its full name is Yellow-bented bulbul. A very popular bird in Nairobi and around.

rudous chatterer

This is probably rufous chatterer.
